Volvo International Golf Challenge China Finals (2020 season) ended perfectly

Volvo International Golf Challenge China Finals (2020 season) ended perfectly

On March 17, the Volvo International Golf Challenge China Finals (2020 season) (hereinafter referred to as the “China Finals”) final round ended at Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club. Song Yuxuan from Beijing came to the fore, surrendering 78 in the final round and 154 in the two rounds, winning the championship by one stroke. Wei Xinqi and Ding Yiwen won the runner-up and third runner-up in total with a total score of 155 and 156 respectively. These three players have qualified for the 2021 Volvo China Open professional amateur match, and will have the opportunity to compete with professional players.

The Volvo International Golf Challenge is one of Volvo’s most important golf events. Since its launch in 1988, the event has been welcomed by Volvo owners and guests. So far, nearly 1 million amateur players have demonstrated their style in the event. While promoting the promotion and popularization of golf, a healthy and elegant sport, the event fully interprets the Nordic happy lifestyle advocated by Volvo.

In the final round, Song Yuxuan, who was tied for third in the first round, caught his first birdie on the 10th hole and rushed to the top of the leaderboard. He then caught the second birdie on the 13th hole and maintained the lead all the way thereafter, eventually winning the championship with a one-shot advantage. After the game, Song Yuxuan said: “Today’s performance was not particularly ideal, but I never gave up. Before coming to Sanya, my driver broke and I had to borrow a third driver temporarily from a friend. The quality of the kick-off was not high. Fortunately, my putting performance was stable in the last few holes and I didn’t miss the birdie chance, which ensured the victory.”

Song Yuxuan is full of expectations for the 2021 Volvo China Open professional amateur match. He said: “I want to be in the same group as last year’s Volvo China Open champion Zhang Huilin. His short shot and putt are very good. I have obtained Zhang Huilin’s contact information at the professional player challenge yesterday. I hope to be able to contact him this year. I had more exchanges with him at the Volvo China Open.”

With the announcement of the overall championship, second and third place suspense, the longest distance award and the nearest flagpole award of this China finals also belong to their respective owners. Among them, the winners of the longest distance award are Cao Hao (male) and Zhao Jingran (female), and the recent flagpole award winners are Yang Zhengxin (male) and Peng Yefang (female). This year’s China Finals also set a hole-in-one award. The prize was a brand new Volvo XC60, but unfortunately, no one won the hole-in-one award.

That night, the organizing committee held a grand awards banquet at the InterContinental Sanya Resort. The contestants, leaders, and guests attended the event in full dress. This internationally renowned amateur event ended perfectly in the coveted cup. In the future, Volvo Cars will adhere to the concept of “respecting people” and spare no effort to strengthen the close communication between the brand and car owners, and establish a deep and strong mutual trust and friendship.
